Owner's Manual  
A. Introduction  
Thank you for selecting the EX50, 5.0 inch Liquid Crystal Display  
(LCD) Monitor. It can be used as an additional monitor or used just to  
replace a lost or damaged monitor. The EX50 utilizes state of the art  
electronics and is designed for easy portability and is constructed to  
provide years of reliable, trouble-free service.  
Please read this manual entirely prior to operation. This manual will  
assist you in installing the EX50 properly to obtain the best system  
performance.  
B. Cautions  
1.Use only the adapter supplied with this Monitor. When the system  
is left unattended and unused for long periods for a long periods of  
time, unplug it from the power source. Always disconnect the when  
power source first and then the jack from the system.  
2.Ensure that the Monitor is installed in accordance with the instruc-  
tions and illustrations provided in this manual.  
3.To prevent fire or electric shock, do not expose this appliance to  
rain, moisture or long periods of direct sunlight. Keep the unit away  
from sources of heat. Do not operate or store the unit close to  
strong magnetic fields. Do not spill or spray liquid of any kind on or  
in the system (this may result in a fire or electric shock).  
4.To ensure proper ventilation, never cover or block the slots and  
openings with a cloth or other material.  
5.To reduce the risk of electric shock do not remove the back cover  
of the unit. There are no user-serviceable parts inside. Contact  
qualified service personnel if your system is in need of repair.  
6.When cleaning, make sure the system is unplugged from power  
source.

D. Positioning the Monitor  
Option 1 Vehicle Headrest (Refer to Figure 1)

Slide the Monitor into the pouch, feed the bottom piece of the Monitor  
into the long slot at the bottom of the pouch and attach the Velcro  
strap to fasten the Monitor in the pouch. Then loop the strap of the  
pouch around the headrest in the vehicle and pull the end of the strap  
while holding the buckle until the pouch is tightly secured.  
Option 2 Flat Surface (Refer to Figure 2)

Rotate the base of Monitor backward and place it on a flat surface.  
Adjust the screen for a proper viewing angle. This can be done with  
the Monitor inside or outside the pouch.

F. Powering the Unit  
Option 1 Indoor Power (Refer to Figure 4)

Using the AC/DC adapter supplied with the EX50, plug the connector  
end into the DC 9V IN jack on the side of the Monitor. Plug the AC/DC  
adapter into a 110V AC power receptable. This can be done with the  
Monitor inside or outside the pouch.

Option 2 Vehicle Power (Refer to Figure 5)

Using theDCPower adaptersupplied,plugtheconnectorendintothe  
DC 9V IN jack on the side of the Monitor. Plug the DC Power adapter  
into a vehicle power outlet.  
G. Operation (Refer to Figure 3 & Figure 6)  
1. Switch the POWER ON/OFF to On and turn the Monitor on. The  
POWER LED will light.  
2. Using the 1/8 to RCA A/V adapter cable connect the signal output  
from an auxiliary source such as camcorder,Video Game, DVD  
Player,Video Cassette Player etc. to the AV IN Jack of the  
EX50.  
3. Use the BRIGHTNESS UP/DOWN control to adjust the picture to  
a desired setting.  
4. Use the VOLUME UP/DOWN control to decrease or increase  
volume level.

H. Using Headphones (Refer to Figure 6)  
Optional wired headphones may be used with the EX50. Simply plug  
in the headset to either Headphone 1Jack* or Headphone 2 Jack on  
the right side of the monitor.  
*NOTE: Using Headphone Jack 1 will disconnect the internal speak-  
ers.

AUDIOVOX ELECTRONICS CORP. (the Company) warrants to the original retail purchaser of this  
product that should this product or any part thereof, under normal use and conditions, be proven  
defective in material or workmanship within 90 days from the date of original purchase, such  
defect(s) will be repaired or replaced with reconditioned product (at the Company's option) without  
charge for parts and repair labor.  
To obtain repair or replacement within the terms of this Warranty, the product is to be delivered with  
proof of warranty coverage (e.g. dated bill of sale), specification of defect(s), transportation prepaid,  
to the Company at the address shown below.  
This Warranty does not extend to the elimination of externally generated static or noise, to correction  
of antenna problems, to costs incurred for installation, removal or reinstallation of the product, or  
to damage to tapes, discs, speakers, accessories, or electrical systems.  
This Warranty does not apply to any product or part thereof which, in the opinion of the Company,  
has suffered or been damaged through alteration, improper installation, mishandling, misuse,  
neglect, accident, or by removal or defacement of the factory serial number/bar code label(s). THE  
EXTENTOFTHECOMPANY'SLIABILITYUNDERTHISWARRANTYISLIMITEDTOTHEREPAIR  
ORREPLACEMENTPROVIDEDABOVEAND,INNOEVENT,SHALLTHECOMPANY'SLIABILITY

This Warranty is in lieu of all other express warranties or liabilities. ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES,
